Studio Policies

1.  Monthly tuition invoices will be emailed to students on or around the 15th day of each month for the upcoming month.  All students must pay their monthly tuition plus any additional material fees (books, music, etc.) in advance by the 25th day of each month for the upcoming month.  Unless prior payment arrangements are made with the Guitar Academy Director (NOT the instructor), a $20.00 late
fee will be accessed to all outstanding balances not paid by the 25th day of the month.  Suspension or cancellation of lessons may result if payment is not received by the 25th day of the month and the lesson timeslot may be made available to other students. Students may pay with cash, check, electronically via debit or credit card from their emailed invoice.  Students who have checks returned for nonsufficient funds (NSF) will be charged $25.00.

2.  All private lessons start and end promptly at the scheduled lesson time. Lesson times will not be extended for tardiness past the scheduled lesson end time. Please be on time for each lesson.

3.  Students are expected to practice six days per week for the duration of their lesson time. If a student's lesson is 30 minutes, then he/she should practice 30 minutes per day. However, more practice time is always encouraged.

4.  Students are allowed ONE (1) make-up lesson within each calendar month for lessons they cannot attend if a 24-hour cancellation notice is given to the instructor.  Reasonable effort will be made to accommodate make-up lessons within the calendar month they are missed but scheduling is solely dependent upon vacant lesson time slots and instructor availability and is not guaranteed.  The Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina, LLC encourages all students to attend their regularly scheduled lessons to minimize the need for make-up lessons.  There will be no refunds or credits given for any lessons the student cannot attend.  There will be no carry-over of make-up lessons from month to month.

5. If the instructor cancels a lesson, immediate notification will be given to the student and a make-up lesson will be scheduled at the instructor’s and student’s convenience within the calendar month the lesson is missed.  There will be no refunds or credits given for any lessons the instructor cannot attend.  There will be no carry-over of make-up lessons from month to month.

6.  If a student misses two consecutive lessons without notification then the student will be dropped from the schedule, remaining tuition will be forfeited, and the lesson time will be given to another student.

7.  If a student must cancel a lesson the day the lesson is scheduled; notification must be given to the instructor directly via telephone.  PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL the instructor to cancel a lesson the day it is scheduled.

8.  There will be three weeks per year the instructor will take off for vacation. These vacation weeks will generally be during the summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. These weeks are calculated in the monthly tuition payments. If you have vacation days that will affect lesson attendance, please speak with your instructor before the first of the upcoming month to schedule applicable make-up lessons.

9.  Recitals will be given on an annual basis. All students are encouraged to perform at recitals.  The recital will count as the lesson for that particular week.

10.  All children and teen-agers will be given a ''Weekly Assignment Sheet'' which outlines their daily practice activities. It is the parent's or legal guardian's responsibility to make sure all assignments have been completed and signed off on. If we all work together, we can achieve greater success and reach goals much quicker.

11.  Students are responsible for purchasing their own instruments, accessories, and instructional materials. The instructor will have these items available at the scheduled lesson location.

12. The Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina, LLC would appreciate a thirty (30) day cancellation notice if a student wishes to cancel lessons.  There will be no tuition refunds if a student chooses to discontinue lessons before the end of a month in which tuition has been paid for in full.

Now that all of the formalities are out of the way... LET'S HAVE SOME FUN!!!
