July 2010 - Our next FREE Six-Week Beginning Guitar Class will start on Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:00 AM. Call 828-775-7841 to register.



June 2010 - The Guitar Academy is proud to announce Fall Semester music classes and a new Rock Band program starting in August. Check our ''Fall 2010 Classes'' link for more details.



June 2010 - The Guitar Academy will hold its annual student recital on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the University of North Carolina at Asheville Music Department.



March 2010 - Private instruction and guitar class student count reaches over 75. Thank you all for supporting the Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina.



February 2010 - A FREE six-week beginning guitar primer course begins for the Henderson County Homeschool Association at Covenant Presbyterian Church.



November 2009 - The Guitar Academy of WNC is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin Lampson to our teaching faculty. Kevin teaches upright classical/jazz bass and electric bass. November 2009 - Guitar Academy moves to new Hendersonville studio location at 235 Duncan Hill Road to serve Henderson and Transylvania counties.



September 2009 - Guitar Academy surpassess 50 private students. Thanks to everyone who has helped in our success!!!



May 2009 - Veritas Christian Academy welcomes Michael Ridenour to the faculty to teach private and group guitar instruction for the Fall 2009 semester.



May 2009 - Registration for Summer Group Guitar Classes begin in Hendersonville.



April 2009 - Bright's Music School becomes the official Henderson/Transylvania County location for Guitar Academy private and class guitar students.



February 2009 - Michael Ridenour is named Treasurer of the Asheville Classical Guitar Society.



February 2009 - Guitar Academy surpassess 30 private students in three months. Thanks to everyone who has helped in our success!!!



January 2009 - The Guitar Academy is now a Limited Liability Company. The new official name if The Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina, LLC.



December 2008 - The Guitar Academy is now an authorized dealer for Musicorp Distributors. Musicorp is based in Charleston, South Carolina and is a nationwide distributor for musical instruments and accessories. This allows us to sell multiple brand name guitars and accessories to our students and new online store customers starting next year.



December 2008 - The Guitar Academy begins it's first ever After-School Guitar Program at Asheville Christian Academy starting in January 2009. If your school is interested in an after-school guitar program please contact us for more information.



November 2008 - The Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina is proud to announce our new partnership with Alhambra Guitars. October 2008 - Michael Ridenour joins the University of North Carolina at Asheville music faculty to teach music theory and music history courses for the 2009 Spring semester.



September 2008 - Founded in 1997, The Guitar Academy reopens full-time after an eight year hiatus. The new name is the Guitar Academy of Western North Carolina.
