The Guitar Ensemble is comprised of classical and steel-string acoustic guitar students.  We meet every-other week during each semester to rehearse classical oriented music for small ensembles.  We conclude each semester with a public performance, however, additional performance opportunities will be presented throughout each semester.  Attendance is mandatory for all rehearsals and performances.

The Guitar Ensemble is directed by Michael Ridenour.

The Guitar Ensemble will give students the experience in the following areas:

- Performing in a public concert.
- A working knowledge of ensemble skills: following a conductor, giving and receiving cues, listening and responding musically to the ensemble, and rehearsal techniques.
- Sight reading skills to accommodate beginning through intermediate ensemble literature.
- Increased performance skills: refinement of technique and stage etiquette.
- A knowledge of beginning through intermediate guitar ensemble literature.
- The ability to participate in the musical community as an ensemble player.
- The ability to perform beginning solo and ensemble literature in front of a classroom audience.
